IDR is seeking a Emergency Vehicle Technician to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA. This role involves transforming standard vehicles into fully equipped law enforcement vehicles, focusing heavily on vehicle upfitting, electrical installations, and equipment integration within a structured, paramilitary environment.
Position Overview for the Emergency Vehicle Technician:
- Install and wire emergency lighting systems, sirens, push bumpers, and other law enforcement equipment
- Install police vehicle consoles, computer docks, printers, prisoner partitions, K-9 kennels, and related equipment
- Install and integrate mobile radios, antennas, in-car camera systems, and license plate reader technology
- Perform vehicle electrical work, including wiring, grounding, power distribution, relays, and ignition connections
- Support fleet maintenance and vehicle preparation activities as assigned
Requirements for the Emergency Vehicle Technician:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience in automotive, fleet, electrical, electronics installation, or related technical work
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and electrical wiring
- Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, installation instructions, and technical documentation
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds
