Enscicon is currently hiring two (2) apprentice millwrights for a long-term renewable energy project at the USACE Fort Randall Dam located in Pickstown, SD.
Enscicon's Millwright Apprenticeship program is a hybrid program and can be completed within a period of 2.5 to 4 years. Benefits include paid on-the-job training and tuition reimbursement. Classroom instruction can be completed remotely, and on your own timeline.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn to and assist with performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of mechanical equipment associated with hydroelectric plants.
Learn to read and understand necessary manuals, drawings, plans, and specifications.
Learn to and assist with repairing or replacing turbine and generator mechanical parts (bearings, shaft lines, equipment, etc.).
Learn to and assist with performing general maintenance and construction duties.
Learn to and assist in performing metal work, pipe work, routine welding, painting, and concrete work.
Perform building maintenance and repair.
Take measurements and prepare job sketches.
In addition to the normal description of construction work for lifting, bending, working with the hands, and pulling.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other employees, and the public using principles of good customer service.
Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age, except where a higher age is required by law.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid United States government-issued ID and pass E-Verify.
Must pass a seven-year criminal background check.
Must pass a five-panel pre-employment drug screening.
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Actively respect and follow all safety instructions detailed in the site EHS plan and be proactive on all safety-related topics at the work site.
Report any quality issues and non-conformities, and ensure the site quality plan is respected at every step of the work.
Learn to and assist with performing skilled duties involving machining, mechanical maintenance, welding, pipefitting, and rigging.
Learn to and assist with the repair, rebuild, and replacement of mechanical equipment such as turbines, governing systems, pumps, compressors, oil pumps, large valves, and gates.
Learn to and assist with the alignment of motors, pumps, shafts, and couplings.
Use a wide range of hand and power tools.
Learn to perform various types of welding (oxygen-acetylene, shielded metal-arc, TIG, MIG), cutting (oxygen-acetylene, carbon arc)- (not mandatory, and only once certified).
Read and understand manuals, drawings, plans, and specifications.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Must be willing to work overtime, and, occasionally, on nights and weekends if required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is carried out in both inside and outside environments, with exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures.
Frequently twist to reach equipment and perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
Frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, and walk.
Frequently push, pull, grasp, and carry while walking.
Occasionally work on various types of terrain and footing, which may be slippery.
Frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
