IDR is seeking a Snowflake Platform Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Lehi, Utah. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and security of the company's data ecosystem within a dynamic industry environment. The position involves managing sensitive workflows, ensuring compliance with governance policies, and continuously seeking automation improvements.
Position Overview for the Snowflake Platform Engineer:
- Manage workflows related to data access requests and usage, ensuring adherence to internal and external governance policies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, governance playbooks, and compliance reports.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using scripting and other tools, implementing enhancements to optimize operations.
- Troubleshoot data-related errors and collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Communicate objectives, priorities, and updates effectively with stakeholders, maintaining a positive, service-oriented approach.
Requirements for the Snowflake Platform Engineer:
- Professional experience as a Snowflake Account Admin
- Strong working knowledge and hands-on familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, SQL, Python, and dbt
- Must be comfortable writing code and scripting to drive automation
- Solid understanding of core data governance and data engineering principles, including metadata management, data classification, stewardship, retention, and access controls
- Exceptional precision and accuracy, managing sensitive workflows vital to many teams' daily functions
